The Canary Islands - Luxury Holidays Canary Islands

Plan your luxury holidays at the Canary  islands

Canary Island is another tourist destination with sub-tropical climate with temperatures over 18 degrees Celsius all year round. The main destinations are the five largest islands Fuerteventura, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, La Palma and Tenerife.

The amazing landscape of the Canary Island was formed millions of years ago from volcanic origins beneath the Atlantic Ocean. For many years it housed four of Spain’s national nature reserves and beautiful beachside resorts. The most attractive things about the Canary Island are the cheap hotels and flights, so don’t miss out on this great deal.

Few islands and little isles, Spain’s four national nature parks and lots of volcanos form the outline of the Canary Island located off the west coast of Morocco. This group of islands was annexed to Spain between the XIV and XV centuries when the Guanches, who are earlier inhabitants were working in trade and shipping with the American and African continents. Nowadays, this archipelago is divided into two Spanish provinces: the Eastern Island composed of Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura and the Western Island composed of Tenerife, La Palma, El Hierri and La Gomera.

The beautiful view, warm climate and blue sea are a hot spot destination for tourists. As we said, there are two provinces, and the main difference is that tourism in mainly in the Easternmost islands because the other side is free of resorts. Tenerife is the most visited island with its name from Guanches name for “Snow-clad Mountain” referring to Pico del Teide volcano with 3718 meter height, highest in the whole of Spain.

Santa Cruz, the capital of Tenerife offers white beautiful beaches, museums and the great Parque Nacional del Teide, huge park with lavic viewsof the two volcanic cones of the mountain with rare and beautiful plants.

The Eastern Island is different story, Gran Canaria has the two famous places Las Palmas and Maspalomas. More than two million people visit Gran Canaria each year due to its sandy coasts, beaches and parks and valleys at the foot of the volcano in the center of the island.

Some of Spain’s most important historic places are located here on this Island. The Casa de Colon, government building that accommodated Columbus on his journey and a museum dedicated to him are found here together with Pueblo Canario’s picturesque. The island is filled with old houses and music fills the streets of the island where local people sell crafts. Museo Canario is also worth visiting representing a museum of the history of the island before the Spaniards.
